Prato Bakery is coming to 150 Bay Street.
Prato's other stores are on Newark Avenue (Jersey City) and Washington Street and 2nd Street in Hoboken.
The bakery opened on 4th Street in Jersey City in 2015, after four years in New York City's West Village.
"The goal has always been the same: to bring the Italian and Tuscan authentic baking tradition to the US," its website says.
Prato is named after the owner and baker's hometown, and offers a variety of handmade goods daily, along with cappuccino and espresso.
One of the most popular item are the cantucci, the biscuits of Prato, made with almond, chocolate, figs, apricot and prunes, and the famous brutti buoni, all baked following an ancient and traditional recipe.
"Another original Tuscan tradition is the schiacciata or focaccia, a flat bread with salt and olive oil," Prato's website says, "with which we prepare our famous sandwiches with original Italian imported cold cuts like Prosciutto di Parma, prosciutto cotto, mortadella, bresaola, buffalo mozzarella and many more."
No opening date has been set.
